Mars Dungeon

The Mars Dungeon is a naturally generated structure found at the bottom of narrow and deep craters on Mars, similar to the Moon Dungeon. It is considered the tier 2 Dungeon and its loot is more valuable than Moon's.

Its structure is made of Mars Dungeon Bricks, which are unbreakable, similar to bedrock. There can be more than one dungeon on Mars, they are generated apart from each other about 500 m.

Looting the Mars Dungeon is the only way to obtain the Cargo Rocket Schematic, which enables you to build the Cargo Rocket.

Walkthrough

It does not differ much from the Moon dungeon. The Mars dungeon resembles in fact a small version of an overworld stronghold, linear, shorter, harder and dark. Torches don't lit, other light emitters do though. You have to get through narrow hallways where hostile mobs spawn and cobwebs block the way. There are intermediate rooms with monster spawners, but you may find one or two rooms with a chest with supplies and finds in the way.

The boss, the Evolved Creeper Boss, is held in the Boss Room, a room before the treasure room. It is big boxy room (15 x 17 x 8 m) with no decoration, with Growstone, that provide some light, and Creeper Eggs laying around near the walls. Once the boss is defeated and you have obtained the Tier 2 Dungeon Key, you can then head to the next and last room to open the Tier 2 Treasure Chest and get the loot.

Info: No other mob besides the player and the boss can enter the Boss Room. If any other mob attempts to do so will spawn.

Tips

  • The dungeon is not affected by the Mars day-night cycle, that is, its darkness does not worsen after the sunset.
  • Make sure you have light up properly your way out if you don't want to face hostiles. For the intermediate rooms, lit them up or break the spawners.
  • To break the cobwebs use a sword with Sharpness or use water to wash away the cobwebs.
